The AWRC is noted as one of Adelaide’s four Community Chemical and Paint Drop-off Centres, and the AWRC will accept batteries, chemicals, coolants, fire extinguishers, fluorescent tubes, gas bottles, herbicides, oils, paint materials, pesticides and x-rays. The use of this service is free to the general public when disposing of hazardous and dangerous materials which have originated from domestic sources.
There are restrictions on the volume of hazardous material that can be dropped off at the AWRC, and this service is not available to commercial or industrial businesses who wish to dispose of their own hazardous waste.
